Hello! My name is Camille and although I love all things elegant, decadent, and artistic, sadly the only thing French about me is my name. I am a bubbly, sardonic, caring, scientist, art-lover, crafter, brunch enthusiast, afternoon tea connoisseur, board game fan, and lover of new and interesting life experiences.
Millennial’s Delight is a whimsical lifestyle blog devoted to creative pursuits and the joy of new experiences. I created the term millennial’s delight as a modern day moniker for Renaissance Person: someone who is enchanted by the idea of constantly learning, growing, and developing new skills and abilities. Millennial’s Delight thus fancifully catalogues my artistic endeavors, my enjoyment of fun and delicious dining experiences like brunch and tea, my beautiful and yummy baking creations, my experiences with travel, leisure, and trying new things, and my musings on life and the pursuit of happiness. I hope this blog inspires your next hobby or trip and reminds you to be kind and generous, especially to yourself.
In addition to my artistic and creative side, I also have a scientific one. I am a chemist with research experiences across a variety of pharmaceutical applications, from small molecules to oligonucleotides to proteins to antibody drugs. My passion for helping others has led me to constantly strive to find new research opportunities that address unmet medical needs. My current arts and crafts hobbies include scrapbooking, painting, and and creatively repurposing used materials such as by making memorable wine bottles into wine candles. I also love creating really extravagant and delicious baked goods, especially for friends and family. Many of my crafting hobbies make for fun and joyful gifts. I have deeply enjoyed developing my crafting skills across a range of media, including bath bombs, soap, makeup, candles, jewelry, perfume, and more. As a chemist and an artist I bring a unique perspective to the art of pampering.
Although I do not formally sell any of my art or crafts, I love being super extra and designing my handmade delights as if they were from a bougie boutique. To this end, I even enjoy making fake brand names like “Sensational Celebrations” for my gift baskets or “Cami Cosmetics” for my perfumes and makeup. I love designing fun labels and pseudo business cards for my many cheerful creations. I also love hosting parties and attending to all the details, including beautiful invitations, homemade Photo Booth props, custom designed and hand laminated menus, individualized place cards, and more. Overall, I love celebrating life and demonstrate my joie de vivre by making fabulous gifts and memorable occasions.
