Early to Rise is well known for their impressive donuts of the day, which was excellent. We got a reservation and didn’t have to wait which was great because walk ins were facing a 20+ minute wait time. The donut of the day was a blueberry ricotta filled donut with an almond topping. It was the highlight of the meal.

To drink I got one of their winter seasonal beverages, an iced peppermint mocha. It was just ok with the chocolate not well dissolved in the iced mixture.

For my entree I got the lemon poppyseed French toast which had layers of French toasted bread soaked in what tasted like a bourbon syrup topped with a lemon poppyseed custard and shortbread as well as meringue. Although this dish generally tasted good it was a little disjointed and did not make for a cohesive brunch experience. The meringue topping was the most delicious component.

Overall the food and beverages were pretty good earning Early to Rise a 4 croissant rating. I would go back to try their bagel dishes and another donut of the day.
