Fairytale Brunch at Son and Garden

Having brunch with friends in post-vaccination California society has been nothing short of a dream. Son and Garden was fully booked and had a lengthy walk in wait time and with good reason: they were fabulous from start to finish!

Let’s talk ambiance: Son and Garden has it in spades! Looking for a fabulous destination for brunch, afternoon tea, a bachelorette party, or other beautiful occasion? Look no further! Son and Garden is wallpapered in Van Gogh’s almond blossom motif (a favorite of mine as evidenced by my unintentionally matching mask!). Beautiful faux flowers compliment the wallpaper and make for a springy, feminine theme. A selfie corner includes perfect ring lighting and a wall full of faux flowers. A multi screen display cycles between various floral scenes and faux pink cherry blossoms complete the decor.

The food and drinks at Son and Garden completely matched the maximalist whimsy of the decor. I was wearing a mermaidy dress and got the “Under the Sea” brunch cocktail to compliment my look. It was delicious and so cute (above), featuring a tiny rubber ducky which I totally kept as an adorable little souvenir. For food, I ordered the matcha pancakes and they tasted even better than they looked (and they looked gorgeous)! The rice flour gave the pancakes a springy texture and the matcha came through in the pancakes themselves, the matcha syrup, and the matcha whipped cream. Mochi also covered the pancakes which were decorated with flowers (matching the decor). Overall the experience was mesmerizing from start to finish and I can’t wait to go back and try afternoon tea as well as more fabulous brunch cocktails and food items!
