I had the great pleasure of attending Van Gogh Live today. It was mesmerizing, immersive, and appropriately socially distanced. For the occasion, I centered my look around one of my favorite Van Gogh works: his almond blossoms. My look consisted of almond blossom themed nails, which I hand painted myself, almond blossom earrings, almond blossom makeup (eyeliner with blossoms on a blue eyeshadow), a dress featuring blue flowers, a necklace featuring a blue flower, and–of course–an almond blossom-themed mask. I was very on theme!

I crafted my nail look by using Color Club’s holographic nail polish in “Over the Moon” as a base, and then painting on the almond blossoms by using a fine paint brush and brown and green polish for the branches and then a dotting tool and fine brush for the white and yellow blossoms.
The Van Gogh Live exhibit was breathtaking. It felt well thought out, safe, and like one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had since covid times began. Many of Van Gogh’s art works are displayed in an immersive environment, paired with creative animation and appropriately poignant musical selections.
