The Many Faces of Harley Quinn

I love both the original red and black Harley Quinn from the Batman cartoons I used to watch as a kid and the modern day pink and blue version. I’ve had a lot of fun recreating both of these looks. I use a combination of makeup, costuming, and photoshop to achieve my final edited pictures.

“That’s so cute. You think you’re scary. Well mister, I’ve seen scary, and you don’t have his smile.” Harley Quinn, Batman

I’ve done a variety of Harley Quinn makeup looks over the years (below) and to achieve the modern day blue and pink look, I simply use bright blue and pink shadows on my lid and use a fluffly brush to expand them to my crease and below my eye for that wild look. I use a black eyeliner (like Stila stay all day or Kat Von D’s liquid liner) for winged eyeliner and to write “ROTTEN” and accent with a heart. I lovingly apply red lipstick and then smear it everywhere using a a tissue. And there you have it, a fabulous Harley Quinn!

For the outfit, I simply used found pieces in my closet that matched her general aesthetic: fishnets, jean shorts, a white top with a jacket, and of course, bleached blond hair accented with pink and blue.

Whatever Harley Quinn you decide to be, whether for Halloween or another occasion, you will undoubtedly have a ton of fun recreating the look of this harlequin.
