Cafe Verde is one of my very favorite brunch places in Pasadena. Every dish I have had there has been truly spectacular (pancakes, French toast, crepes, and huevos rancheros). Cafe Verde has my second favorite pancakes in Pasadena (with first prize going to Beany’s Cafe); fluffy, buttery, and delicious. Cafe Verde was voted as having #1 Huevos Rancheros in Pasadena and that rating is well deserved; Cafe Verde does in fact have the best huevos rancheros in town in my experience: corn tortilla is still crunchy, eggs perfectly cooked, just the right amount of sauce, reasonable portion size, overall a perfectly balanced dish. The Cafe de Olla is also phenomenal: cinnamon, spices, and brown sugar perfectly mixed into a comforting coffee beverage that pairs well with any brunch item. Overall Cafe Verde gets 5/5 croissants from me; a fantastic brunch spot for any occasion.
